TicketCity Bowl Preview, Prediction, and Betting Line – Northwestern Vs. Texas Tech

Adriana | March 20, 2020May 24, 2020

Northwestern and Texas Tech play in the first college football game of 2011 in the TicketCity Bowl. The Wildcats and Red Raiders meet in Dallas at 12:00 pm EST on New Year’s Day. The TicketCity Bowl will be the third bowl game to feature a Big Ten team against a team from the Big 12. Missouri and Iowa play in the Insight Bowl (Insight Bowl Preview) and Baylor meets up with Illinois in the Texas Bowl (Texas Bowl Preview).

Once upon a time, Northwestern was 5-0, but now the Wildcats are 7-5 and without their starting quarterback. Northwestern is coming off of a 70-23 loss to Wisconsin in their last regular-season game. Texas Tech also enters the game with an overall record of 7-5. The Red Raiders only managed to go 3-5 in Big 12 Conference play this season but won all four of their non-conference games.

This is going to be a really big game between these two popular teams. You can try agen judi online to place your bets on these games along with millions of others and win some serious money. This is a completely legal website that offers you online betting services.

When Texas Tech Has the Ball

The Red Raiders offense ranked 34th in the nation this year scoring 32.1 points per game. Texas Tech likes to spread the field out and throw the football. Quarterback Taylor Potts put up huge numbers this year with 3357 yards and 31 touchdowns in his senior season. Wide receivers Lyle Leong (808 yards, 17 touchdowns) and Detron Lewis (803 yards, 6 touchdowns) are Potts’ top two targets. When the Red Raiders run the ball, Baron Batch gets the bulk of the carries. Batch had 805 yards rushing and 5 touchdowns.

Northwestern ranked 67th in the nation in scoring defense with 27.7 points per game. They come into the TicketCity Bowl after their two worst defensive showings of the season. Against Illinois on November 20th, Northwestern allowed Illinois running back Mikel Leshoure to run for 330 yards and the Wildcats lost 48-27. In the final game of the season, Northwestern gave up 5 rushing touchdowns and 4 touchdowns through the air en route to a 70 -27 loss to Wisconsin. Northwestern’s defense will have to figure out a way to stop the Texas Tech passing attack if they are going to have a chance in this one.

When Northwestern has the Ball

When quarterback Dan Persa went out with an injury the Wildcats lost one of the best quarterbacks in the country and their team leader. Persa was extremely accurate completing 73.5% of his passes for 2581 yards and 15 touchdowns. Freshman Evan Watkins has had a difficult time filling Persa’s shoes in his two games as a starter. Watkins has only completed 53.1% of his passes and has only 1 touchdown to go along with 4 interceptions. Wide receiver Jeremy Ebert had a great season with 919 yards and 8 touchdowns. The Northwestern offensive line will need to give Watkins plenty of time to get comfortable in the pocket and find his receivers.

The Red Raiders defense gave up a lot of points this season. Texas Tech ranked 85th in the nation in scoring defense at 30.3 points per game. The Red Raiders had 24 sacks and 14 interceptions on the season, and they will try to force Northwestern’s freshman quarterback to make mistakes.

2011 TicketCity Bowl Prediction and Betting Lines

Texas Tech enters the game as 9 1/2 point favorites over Northwestern and the over/under for the game is set at 60 1/2. Northwestern has looked bad since losing Dan Persa, and I think that the Red Raiders will be able to cover the spread. I would also take the over in this game. With Texas Tech’s offense scoring quickly through the air I expect a high scoring game.

Gambling and Writing: It’s All in the Game

Adriana | March 11, 2020August 24, 2020

Not a big jump from writing to gambling

I’m a free lance-writer. Someone Robert Benchley defines as “a…man (look again, Robert) who is paid per piece or per word or perhaps.” The writing of plays, short stories, and an occasional article, is the way I make my living. Or perhaps.

However, since I’m mainly a literary writer, more times that not, I pay to write (in the form of entry fees, and unbillable hours) rather than writing for pay. After twenty years, I still cannot support myself by the labor of my pen.

Don’t do best-sellers

“I don’t do best sellers!” I cry with ill-disguised disdain. (Truth be know, I’d love to write a best seller and should anyone tell me how, I’ll happily take notes.)

However, best seller-less in Seattle, I’m at my computer in my home office, and judge my success not by fat checks, but by thin acceptances in the form of scribbled notes by artistic directors or feature editors.

That being said, I have a confession. It has nothing to do with how I regard my work, but rather what I do with the fruits of my labor that’s worth at least one visit to the confessional.

Why I gamble my writing winnings

I’m a casino junkie, and I gamble most of my writing checks away. (Last month’s check for a short story was good for fifteen rolls of quarters at the MGM GRAND.)

But make no mistake, I’m not irresponsible. Like most of my literary colleagues, I hold down a part time job in the real world. (Getting a paycheck comes in real handy if you want to keep the electrical power coming in to your computer and have a light to read those galley proofs.)

I pay my bills, okay? It’s just the sporadic earnings from my writing that I contribute to the casinos.

What’s more, I feel justified in doing it. Writing and gambling have a lot in common when you get right down to it. Both habits are non-profit, involve risk and, can be, addictive. Gambling can also be addictive online. With games such as Login Poker and horse race betting online, the temptation is quite hard to resist.

The readers of SIP might very well ask why I spend my hard-earned money on gambling. Why don’t I invest or save it, for goodness sakes!

It’s for the very reason that I worked so hard earning it, (in an arena populated by such a small percentage of the population, you couldn’t get a decent head count on a slow Sunday) that I feel compelled to squander it. What’s more, I have to wait such a long time to see a return on my invested time and energy.

Writing checks take forever, you win instantly

Consider this. It takes a year out of my life to write a full-length play, and by the time I received an announcement that my play will be produced, I’m another year older. Add another six months for the time it takes to cast, mount, close and strike the set, and another half year has sneaked by.

So, miracles of miracles, when the check is finally in my hot little hand, sanity has taken a hike. All I hear is the siren song of a Vegas casino. All I can see are rows and rows of computerized gambling machines with no other mission in life than to satisfy lady luck and accommodate writers with smoking pockets.

Besides, I rationalize, with the pull of a handle, I can double, no triple my hard earned money. How can some artistic director on acquisition editor compete with them odds!

Illogical, specious?, wacky. Of course. But, alas, inevitable.

I’m not alone with my distorted thinking. I have a writer-director friend who put his entire independent film project on the line with a toss of the dice. He lost. And my best friend, first time novelist, took her advance and tried to double or nothing, it. (She nothing’ed it.)

These people are highly disciplined writers, (and like me work at other jobs to pay the bills) but their writing income often gets poked into a slot machine or plunked down on a table covered with green felt and blooming with gaming chips. (Better odds, they say than having their screenplay optioned or their book crowning the best-seller list.)

So there you have it. Confessions of a casino junkie who just happens to be a writer. Not very smart to gamble away my writing income. But on the other hand, there are now slot machines linked to statewide networks who pay progressive jackpots that near the $10 million mark…

Poker Rebuy Tournaments: What You Need to Know

Adriana | March 11, 2020August 24, 2020

Millions of people are familiar with the World Series of Poker. It is the largest and most prestigious no limit Texas Holdem tournament around. However, it is a once and done deal. Once you are knocked out of the world series of poker, you are done and you get to go home. If you are into “second-chances”, poker rebuy tournaments are for you. This poker article will explain what poker rebuy tournaments are and how they differ from the standard knockout poker tournaments that you are accustomed to following.

A poker rebuy tournament is one that allows each player to buy back in if he is knocked out. Generally, the rebuy period lasts for the first hour or so of the poker tournament. The rebuy stage is a period during a poker tournament where players are allowed to buy more chips to add to their stack. Being low on chips is not a requirement to buy back in (rebuy) and anyone can choose to buy back in during this special rebuy period if they so desire.

A huge side effect of the rebuy period in a poker tournament is the large increase in purse size that occurs as a result of all of the new money being invested via rebuys or add-ons. Solid poker players love this, especially if they are good enough to get ahead of most of the field without the need to buy back in. The extra money that is added to the purse presents an opportunity for good poker players to pad their bankrolls.

Most poker rebuy tournaments will only allow a single rebuy but some may offer multiple rebuy or add-on opportunities but they will always be limited in some fashion. You simply cannot have a tournament that allows for unlimited rebuys. That just wouldn’t make sense.

Most would agree that if you are sitting at a Texas Holdem tournament that allows for rebuys, you should buy back in right at the start of the tournament. This arms you with additional chips to do battle with. Larger chip stacks allow for a bit more experimentation and additional risk taking. If nothing else, purchasing additional chips right at the outset of the Texas Holdem tournament basically gives you an immediate advantage over those poker players at the table that cannot or will not rebuy.

One thing to always remember is that you should never get involved in a poker tournament that allows for rebuys if do not have the ability to rebuy. Even if you do not want to rebuy, you should always be prepared to do so if necessary. Otherwise, y9ou will be at a distinct disadvantage. When the player will visit a website, then they have to Login Poker to enjoy the innovative and variety of games. It will provide opportunity to the players of access over different games.

Top Casinos to Visit in Atlantic City (AC)

Adriana | February 20, 2020May 19, 2020

I have been to Atlantic City one too many times. I have been to all the casinos at least twice and I am here to provide what each casino has to offer from dining, gambling, shopping and overall quality. 토토사이트 is one of my favourite places to try out my luck.

A.) Caesar, Wild West and Bally’s Casino

I group these casinos together because they are all connected to each other. They might be three different casinos, but they complement each other. Bally have the best comps from free hotel rooms to literally giving $5 to $20 for just coming by. The free hotel rooms are in their older building called Claridge which looks like an old fashion hotel room, but free is free. Wild West Casino is very old and small but it is a great place to find many lower minimum tables. You will see a lot more $5 blackjack and roulette tables than Caesar and Bally.

Finally, Caesar is one of the top three casinos in Atlantic City. It has aged very well and it is very popular for many people. The hotel rooms are much nicer than Bally’s and the table minimum are usually $5 higher than Bally’s/Wild West. It is also the prime location for the Pier Shops and the outdoor outlet that is walking distance away. For non-gambling people, you can spend a lot of time at the outdoor outlet center and the Pier Shops without being tempted to gamble. Caesar’s is a bit stingy on their comps unless you are Diamond or higher on the Total Rewards Card. The Noodle Bar at Caesar is a personal favorite for Pad Thai and beef chow fun.

B.) Harrah’s Casino

Although Harrah’s is away from the Boardwalk, it is one of the best casinos in Atlantic City. It recently opened a new Waterfront Tower and has the best nightclub in AC. The poolside nightclub attracts a lot of people on weekends. Harrah is also the nicest in giving comps away which includes free hotel room, free buffet and sometimes $25 to $50 in comps. The casino floor is also nicer than any of the casinos on the boardwalk and bigger in size. There are also more tables but it is near impossible to find low minimum tables on weekends. Shopping is non-existent so you might be tempted to gamble if you are bored. The restaurants have horrible service and expensive. I usually stick with the cafeteria food or something from the deli.

C.) Borgata Casino

Borgata is also away from the Boardwalk and it is near Harrah Casino. It is walking distance but it is not very safe as there are no pedestrian streets. Borgata is the newest casino in Atlantic City which also makes it the most popular and most crowded. The waitress are also unbelievable gorgeous with their black dresses. Unlike the waitress in other casinos who are over 35 years old, Borgata is more in the 20’s and low 30’s. The casino floor looks identical to Harrah’s and it is also very large. Borgata has the second biggest poker room and it is very crowded, even in the early morning. I never gotten much comps from Borgata but they are generous in room upgrade and the rooms are amazing. Shopping is also non-existent so you might be tempted to gamble if you are bored.

Notables

Showboat –

It has the biggest Poker room in Atlantic City and a lot of action. The casino floor is similar to Bally but the location is horrible. It is also on the Boardwalk but 20 minutes walking distance away from Caesar and 40 from Tropicana.

Tropicana-

The selection of restaurant is much better than any other casinos. There are Carmines, Hooters, Country Kitchen and P.F. Changs. There is also a very nice indoor shopping area (second best to the Pier Shops) with an IMAX movie theater. Everything else is old.

Gaining Entry into the World Series of Poker

Adriana | February 18, 2020August 24, 2020

We’ve all watched the drama on television, the bad beats and those who have had good luck. ESPN does a masterful job covering the World Series of Poker and it has been getting great ratings since the early 2000s. In what other competition can a complete unknown advance though a field of thousands of players including grizzled veterans and win millions of dollars.

In addition to the title, you will become a bonafide television celebrity. ESPN’s coverage will paint you a good guy or a villain and you can take it from there. Poker has grown by leaps and bounds over the past decade and winning the World Series of Poker has become a mental and physical endurance test.

Entering the World Series of Poker is actually the easy part, anyone can enter, here are the three ways to get in and play. The tournament is held annually in Las Vegas.

Satellite Tournaments –

Satellite tournaments used to be small events that were held leading up to the Main Event of The World Series of Poker. These satellites cost maybe $10-100 to enter and winning would either earn you a sport in a bigger satellite, or some even would reward you with a spot in the Main Event. Some players used these events as warm ups for bigger events, so there were a lot of players vying for one or two spots. It’s a hard and long road to get a spot in The World Series, but it’s affordable and tests your skills. Many of these satellites are now held on the internet throughout the year, it is the internet age isn’t it? Because of all the internet poker play, many competitors have never played in a live poker tournament when they show up in Las Vegas. Recent Main Event winners Chris Moneymaker and Greg “Fossilman” Raymer gained entry into the Main Event through Satellites.

Find a sponsor –

It costs a cool $10,000 to enter the Main Event. Some people get someone to back their participation in the event. Having a backer is a double-edged sword, you are playing on someone else’s dime, but if you cash a percentage of your winnings will have to be paid to your sponsor. Getting a sponsor isn’t easy, you will have to have a proven track record in poker tournaments to attract interest. That or maybe your Uncle Al just won the lottery and hell take a flyer on your time in Vegas.

Ante up yourself –

If you want to get in The World Series of Poker all you have to do is put up $10,000 of your own money and you’re in. 2005 winner Joseph Hachem entered the tournament by paying the full fee himself and it paid off.

Hey, it’s no secret this tournament is not easy. Most of the poker players go home with nothing but their memories and a good story or two to tell. So some win, most lose, but it’s always fun to play the game.

To sum up, poker is enjoyable but quite time consuming due to it being so complex in its entirety and is not so simple as Domino QQ, which is online while this is where everything is upfront and one wrong move can become disastrous.

St. Louis County Council Approves a New Casino for the Riverfront

Adriana | February 18, 2020August 24, 2020

The last time I went to the casino, I not only lost my hard-earned $40, but also a prized walking stick. The walking stick was made of hickory and had a compass on the top of it. It was one of my favorites. I just leaned it up against one of the slot machines and went to get a drink, and when I got back, someone had taken it. I assume that it was stolen, because no one turned it in at the lost and found.

Let me say firsthand that I am not very much of a gambler. I go to the casino about once every couple of months and I never take more than about $50 with me. I do know some people who go almost every day, and most of them can’t afford to lose, but most of them do.

One friend routinely takes his bill money and gambles it at the dice table. Sometimes he wins and the bills get paid and other times he loses and he and his family go without lights for a while. Another fellow can’t wait to get to the casino to gamble away his unemployment check. Not exactly what the government had in mind when they issue them.

This problem has become prevalent all over the world as the youth are so addicted to gambling that they don’t even hesitate to gamble away their entire wealth just for the sake of satisfying their temptations with one of my friends even asking me to list out kumpulan situs judi online so as to lookup for the best one.

The problem is that most people who live in the inner city gamble, whether it’s at one of the casinos or tossing the dice in some back alley. They also play the lottery a lot. If you talk to them they always have a system and it’s just a matter of time before they think that they are going to strike it big. But they rarely do.

According to the Riverfront Times, it looks like they are going to build another casino and this time it’s in the worst part of the city that it could possibly be. We already have five in the area and most of them are in areas where the income level is fairly high. Now they want to build one in one of the poorest areas of the city: north St. Louis. It will also be by far the largest casino in the area if it’s built, with 8,000 parking spaces, a wind farm, and a golf course.

There is some opposition to the plan however. Environmental groups say that the area is near the river and one of the few remaining natural wetlands in the area. It also is in a flood plain and building a large commercial development in a flood plain is never such a good idea.

The plan has been approved by the county council by a vote of 4-2. I think that it should be put up for a public vote, so everyone can decide instead of just a couple of people with vested interests.

Analysis: Why FortuNet Inc.’s Move to Scale Back Portable Gambling Device Plan Shows Successful Model

Adriana | February 15, 2020May 18, 2020

For well over a year, those of us that report on operations and news that effect casinos have been intrigued by the development of portable gambling devices byFortuNet Inc. The capabilities of the hardware and software gave many of us a lot of room to consider effects on the gambling industry. As a political advisor, and gambling industry writer, I have to say that the decision by FortuNet Inc. to discontinue their current move to place their portable gambling devices in casinos in Las Vegas was a good one.

For those of you that have not had a chance to look into this topic, I can give you a brief overview.

FortuNet Inc. makes portable gambling devices that are used in larger bingo halls across the United States. FortuNet Inc. has been working on software to convert these portable gambling devices to casino use. By using one of their mobile pads, a casino player would be able to play keno, slots, poker, video poker, or roulette from anywhere on a casino’s property. Think about it like a video game that used real money.

On Friday (October 23rd, 2009), FortuNet Inc. announced that it would discontinue it’s push to have these portable gambling devices put into Las Vegas casinos. They are going to take a loss on the money (over $1.6 million) that they have used to market these portable gambling devices to the Nevada State Gaming Commission.

The reasoning for this move by FortuNet Inc. is simple. With the economy in a downturn right now, casinos have less business. Less business means that they have more slot machines and chairs open at table games than they have bodies to fill them. Why come out with portable gambling devices right now that are going to take more people away from these seats? Why not come out with these devices once the economy is back up in an upswing?

This move shows that FortuNet Inc. is more concerned with long-term growth potential than it is with a current influx of cash. If you look over any industry right now, one would be hard-pressed to find many companies in any industry that share this kind of vision.

Plus, in the future, when FortuNet Inc https://tunasbola.org/link-alternatif-sbobet/ has shown why the company is becoming famous on the internet and told that main reason behind their success Is the service quality and management of them; that helps the customer to find the desired result on the website without any hesitation . makes a push once again to have the Nevada State Gaming Commission allow their portable gambling devices, less money will need to be spent. The seed has already been planted, and it now has a longer time to grow in the minds of the NSGC. When the time finally comes to cultivate that seed, the members of the NSGC should (nothing is ever definite in the gambling industry) be more prone to the idea.

A company tat knows when the time is right to scale a program back like this shows logic and a state of protectionism. While protectionism is sometimes frowned upon by the business world, the presence is welcomed in a time of financial fluctuation like this.

While I personally was hoping to see portable gambling devices from FortuNet Inc. by the spring of next year, I am happy (for them) that they made the decision to step back from the project. Now, they have more time to clean up their software, and find new applications for it. While this also gives time for more competitors to copy the idea, it also gives FortuNet Inc. more time to perfect it.

Quantum of Sequel In brief! Have a look

Adriana | February 12, 2020May 18, 2020

Well, it’s not as good as Casino Royale. Those are the first words that I and others who have seen Quantum of Solace have been telling those who ask about it in eager anticipation. And we’re right, but it’s still worth seeing. Solace is one of the best action films you’ll see made today, it’s just not redefining, like Royale was.

Daniel Craig is back as the dark, complex and trouble MI6 agent. The first scene picks literally right where Royale left off (one hour later I think). The opening scene (usually thrilling in a Bond film) is a high-octane car chase, throwing us right into the heart-pulsing action and urgent pace that fuels and sometimes wears out Solace. After a clever Bond quip, we get a brief freeze frame, then straight into the famous opening credits sequence that’s a staple of the Bond genre.

Alicia Keys and Jack White offer “Another Way to Die” for Bond 22. Unlike just about every one else on the planet, I actually like this song. Keys’ and White’s voice mix well and White’s characteristic fuzzy guitar blends well with the recognizable Bond theme.

Speaking of recognizable, little of this film is to Bond enthusiast. I understand writer Paul Haggis (Casino Royale, Crash) wanting to continue reinventing Bond, but there is a line where you start to get into heresy. For instance, once again we only get a variation on the classic line “Shaken, not stirred,” and “Bond, James Bond,” sits this one out.

Craig absolutely owns Bond for this age. Connery still gets my vote for “Best Bond Ever,” but no one alive could reach the intensity, moral complexity and utter suaveness that Craig does. Also, no one else on Earth looks so cool in a tux.

Unfortunately, Olga Kurylenko is one of the worst Bond girls ever. Her acting and character are paper thin. Unlike Eva Green’s rich Vesper Lynd, Kurylenko’s Camille is not a real person. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that Green is a real actress and Kurylenko is a Ukranian model. That seems to be it. Judi Dench is solid once again as M and Jesper Christensen returns as Mr. White to sinister effect. Jeffrey Wright shows up again, but only that. If you’re going to have a great actor like Wright in these films, he needs more than a glorified cameo. I’m hoping they are just sitting him up to play a bigger part as Felix Leiter in the later films. Oh, and is it just me or do you think they should give Hugh Laurie or Ricky Gervais a call for the part of Q?

I originally doubted director Marc Forster’s (Finding Neverland, Stranger Than Fiction, The Kite Runner) ability to stage action. I was wrong. This film features some downright awesome action scenes that feature impressive choreography and some really flashy work from the cinematographer (see: falling through glass).

Forster’s Bond continues down the path of darkness, and rightfully so its good to consider judi casino online terpercaya for the better acknowledgement about; how to play the bet sequences with maximum profit odds. This new Bond is complex. He feels anger and emotion, seeking revenge for the death of Vesper. Forster’s Bond, too, actually looks like he could be doing the stunts he is (thanks mostly to Craig’s actually doing them). He bleeds. He grunts. He doesn’t stick all his landings and falls sometimes.

Certain elements of the plot – the villain, his plan, and the Bond girl – feel rather thin and cheap, but that’s because Solace is a direct sequel to Royale. This film finishes up it’s predecessor’s story arc, and in a rather satisfying fashion. Forster lets the next director take the franchise in their own direction, with a new plot.

All in all, Solace is a worthy addition to the Bond franchise, if not one of the best. It’s a quality action film and is definitely worth seeing, but don’t expect any of the genius of Royale. This film doesn’t have the freshness or the breathing room. But, in the end, as the credits assured me (yes, I did stay to make sure it was there): James Bond will return. And once again, I can’t wait. I couldn’t always say that in the Timothy Dalton/Pierce Brosnan era.

Risk: Factions PlayStation 3 Review

Adriana | January 28, 2020May 29, 2020

Risk: Factions is a PSN game based off the popular board game Risk. If you’re familiar with the board game then you’ll feel right at home with the video game version and enjoy the additions. If you’re not familiar with the board game, Risk: Factions is easy to learn by way of the single player campaign which also acts as a tutorial and the “How to Play” instructions.

Basics of Play

For those of you not familiar with the board game of Risk, the basics of play consist of up to five players battling for control of the world. Games of such feature have been released many time in Pkv format and have a loyal following of gamers who love to play them. Each player starts with the same amount of territories and troops, and then take turns attacking other players. Attacks happen by the both players rolling the dice, the higher dice defeating the other troops. The defending troop always wins a tie. You get additional troops depending on how many territories you own and controlling a continent gives you bonus troops at the start of your next turn. Winning is achieved by owning the entire map, although in Risk: Factions there is the option of playing where the winner is the first person to complete three random objectives and have control of their capital, similar to the new 2008 Risk rule set.

Single Player Mode

The single player mode of Risk: Factions consists of five levels each played on a different map and each adding an extra computer player to play against (up to five total players). The maps start small and get larger as you play through the levels. These maps aren’t the traditional world map used on the board game but are completely new maps made for the game.

There are objectives in this mode, ranging from controlling your enemies capital to taking over 10 territories in one turn. There are also map elements that can be earned, such as controlling three barracks which lets you freeze any territory for one full round of turns, stopping anyone from attacking to or from that territory.

The story is done exceptionally well, with fully voiced over cut scenes for each level. Each one introduces you to the faction you will be playing as for that level: humans, cats, robots, zombies, and yetis. The cut scenes are stylized and funny. My only complaint is that they’re so good I was left wanting more!

The battles are also graphically nice. Each faction has its own stylized dice ranging from furry for the cats to black and red for the zombies. The characters and their attacks for each faction is great fun to watch. If you’re in a hurry you can choose fast battle which will skip the animated battles and the dice rolls, but doing so also means you can’t retreat mid-battle.

Local Multiplayer

For people who are fans of the board game playing local multiplayer may be a big deal. It’s good news that Risk: Factions is a great alternative to playing the board game with your friends. My gaming group actually prefers the video game version now!

You can play with up to five people provided you have the controllers. You can either choose automatic game set up where the computer chooses your starting territories or go the traditional board game route and do that manually taking turns.

You can play on any of the maps you’ve beaten in the single player mode or the classic world board game map. You also have the option of playing classic Risk where you get the classic cards and without objectives and where winning is done by taking over the whole world, or you can play the Factions way with objectives, where winning can be either world conquest or the first player to complete three objectives and have control of their capital.

Online Multiplayer

Online multiplayer is where the real fun comes in. I haven’t had any trouble finding a five player game online over PlayStation Network. Playing against random people presents new tactics and strategies that you’ll have to take into consideration.

When setting up a game or searching for one to join, you have the option of choosing either manual game set up where players select their starting territories and place their troops, or automatic where players only get to place their starting capital. I have yet to play a game online that requires players to set up the game manually. As a veteran board game player I was worried about this at first, but now I see it actually works better as you never know what territories you’ll end up with, and this adds to the needed strategy to be used, adding to the fun.

If a player gets eliminated (all of his territories are lost), they can exit to the main menu and the game will still count it as a game played (and lost), counting the stats you earned (you can see your stats from the main menu’s War Room).

If another player leaves the game before their territories are eliminated the other players will keep playing and will still have to attack the remaining territories owned by the player who left. However, the computer will not take control of them. That player no longer gets a turn, it is just skipped over until all their remaining territories are eliminated. I haven’t run into to many quitters online, although there have been a few.

There is not a time limit online, so players can take as long as they need. Of course, this could be annoying if a player purposefully takes forever. I haven’t come across anyone doing this yet, but it is a possibility that it will happen by someone eventually.

There is mic chat, although most people don’t use it. I have only ran into one person online using voice chat so far in my many games online. There isn’t a way to chat by text on screen, but players can message each other via the regular PSN messages. However, you don’t need to communicate much during Risk anyway.

Overall, Risk: Factions is a great addition to the Playstation Network. Any fans of the board game should pick it up right away, and anyone not sure should try out the demo on the Playstation Store.

Video Game Review: Stacked with Daniel Negreanu

Adriana | January 26, 2020May 17, 2020

This is one of the craziest poker games that I have ever played! In Stacked with Daniel Negreanu you can put your poker skills to the test playing in a couple of different casinos that have multiple competitions.

The game offers a challenging poker playing experience even for the most hardened experienced poker players. I have been playing poker, specifically Texas Hold’em, for many years now and I thought that this game was going to be a fun and interesting and possibly a little easy for me like so many other poker games that I’ve played… sadly I was mistaken! The game’s difficulty is hard even for someone who knows how to play the game and has competed in many online tournaments as well as played in the casinos.

In Stacked you get to play against some of the world’s best poker players including Evelyn Eng and eventually you will even get to play against “Kid Poker” himself Daniel Negreanu. When you begin the game you get to create your own character and the one I created really had a striking resemblance to me which was kind of weird, but a nice feature of the game.

When you first start the game after creating your character you will have limited choices in what types of games you play and where you can play them. The first thing you’ll notice is that there is only one casino open to you at this time, this is because you have to unlock the other two casinos which furthers the main story of the game (if there is one) which seems to be to beat ever single tournament in the game so that you can play against Daniel Negreanu.

There are low and high stake games available in this game, as well as tournaments which are single and multi table for varying amounts of money and some offer the ability to unlock another game which in turn unlocks another game so that you can play and possibly beat every tournament in the game. This is a daunting task since the game’s A.I. system is very intuitive and I felt like I was being bluffed out a lot by the computer.

The game has its quirks, the characters all talk if you enable the table talk in the game. If you sit and wait for a long time to make a call then they will all start taunting you until you call or fold. Which some of the table talk is funny, but for the most part it is repetitive and most of the characters look alike just with a baseball hat on or a different skin color but you can tell that they are basically the same player models. There is a glitch in the game as well, at least in my copy, to where if you hit CRTL+F4 on your keyboard before the you stand up and walk away after you have lost a hand, they game will of course close immediately and when you reload the game you’ll have all the money you invested in a certain tournament so that you won’t have to spend hours building up your bankroll just to see it swiftly diminish after losing a couple of big tournaments.

Overall this game is awesome to play; sure it may have its little quirks, but what game doesn’t. I would recommend that anyone with a computer and a love for Texas Hold’em to go out and at least give this game a try you will not be disappointed because just like dominoqq, these games are the best!
